Ben Miller,
Strumming With The King
(BMR)
Talk about fighting the good fight. Musician Ben Miller took ten of his best original songs into the studio, playing all the lead, rhythm and bass guitars himself, then added drum parts to the vocal tracks and sent them out into the world. Even in a time that’s seen and heard just about everything, Strumming With The King still manages to catch afire. The mark of Mark Knopfler may be written in a deep groove on these songs, but Miller is and always will be his own man. His guitar has the relentless fire of so many greats, and while the young musician continues the search for his own sound, he’s found a musical path that will take him there with talent to spare. One to watch.

Ben, We need more time due to American Idol being so consuming. Give us 2 or 3 more weeks? We have your info and are aware of your letter of recommendation from a talent promoter who worked for our RCA President Clive Davis. Sounds like Mark Knopfler quite a bit!!
Reviewer: John F-Director / WXRT 93.1 FM-Chicago
You need to keep talking with your contact at Reprise/Warner Records is what I would recommend. That is all I can tell you right now. Sounds like your on the right track though. Hi Ben, I like your Magic Caravan song a ton!
More Stevie is a great idea for your sound. Gives it a bite that you can't ignore. I knew Stevie in Austin during the '70s, and we always stayed close until his early death. He was easily one of the greatest musicians I've ever heard. I'm glad he's inspiring you. He was the real thing. Please send me a copy when you're ready. Bill
Where's my friend Ben? Anybody seen him lately?. I bet he's mixing up some serious Tennessee moonshine in that studio. Staying tough kid is good advice, trust is hard to come by these days and well you live and learn you know. Ben's word is as good as gold and then some so get this boy a really nice tour bus next time you see or hear from him. Let me know!!
Reviewer: Jerry S.
My friend picks me up and is jamming this CD really loud. I thought it was old Dire Straits or Pink Floyd but wasn't sure and was suprised when he told me it was an unknown artist. Quality riffs, quality sound
Reviewer: Warren Pollux
Dude I saw the "Lizard King" in the Sonora desert and he is very much alive. I thought Ben Miller was a guitar player in New York but I guess it was a diiferent Ben. Anyway I think this guy really does sound like the Lizard King especially in Magic Caravan and Spanish Moon. The close similarity to Jim Morrison is wierd. It's kind of eerie to say the least. Nice clear sound!
Reviewer: Tom Klaner/Bright Eyes Reviews---Germany (click for website)
Nach seinem Debütalbum „Each & Everyday“, das bereits für positive Stimmen sorgen konnte, stellt „Farther Than The Eye Can Stare“ die viel zitierte konsequente Weiterentwicklung dar. Wer es gerne lässig und groovig mag, der sollte BEN MILLERs Scheibe ruhig mal antesten und selbst darüber urteilen. Für die Fahrt über den Highway ist das Album bestens geeignet. 9 von 13 Augen Tom Klaner The cool groovened opener "Magic Caravan" knows how to convince!!
Reviewer: Tom Klaner/ Bright-Eyes Reviews/Germany (click for website)
WWW.Bright-Eyes.De Germany------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The guitarist BEN MILLER out of Chicago published the studio album existing new now "Farther Than The Eye Can Stare" and is his second complete work. This solo disk uses BEN MILLER not only in order to place his musical ability under proof, but rather it receives also the song lines that remind occasionally even of Mark Knopfler. So it does so thoroughly as Dire Straits meets The Doors. The cool groovend Opener 'Magic Caravan' knows how to convince exactly that atmospheric along with track 2 'Deuces Wild'. ------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- In the guitar working, BEN MILLER leaves nothing to chance and leads its total guitar repertoire into the field. He who expects now an endless sound would be mistaken, finally to find within the twelve songs are two pure instrumental numbers. After its debut album "Each & Everyday", that was able to provide already positive voices, "Farther Than The Eye Can Stare" adds more consistent further development. He who likes it happy, free, and groovig, should buy BEN MILLERs disk at once. For the trip over the Highway, the album is suited best.---------- Tom Klaner We've got it!!!
I saw you play a private party at Northern Illinois University and it was crazy. People were bowing down and kissing your feet as you played. Girls went nuts. You played the same song back to back because everyone could not believe your guitar playing they had to hear it twice.
